The Company are environmental coordinator and landscape architect to Skanska/ Jacobs on a major Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) scheme at the M1 interchange with the M6 and A14 in the Midlands. The scheme is to create a link between the M1 and A14, by adding a further level to the current M1/ M6 interchange creating a potential landmark structure. A new local road network to replace existing motorway access from local communities is also required.

Moore Environment is co-ordinating a multidisciplinary team to complete extensive environmental surveys, Stage 3 environmental assessment in accordance with DMRB and Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG) Appraisal and produce an Environmental Master Plan and Environmental Statement. The company are also providing input to the appearance of the structures, engineering design and environmental performance of the scheme. A detailed planting and habitat creation strategy will also be prepared and implemented.

A5117 DEESIDE JUNCTIONS
CARILLION & HIGHWAYS AGENCY
2003 TO 2013

The Company are environmental coordinator and landscape architect to Carrillion and Owen Williams on this major design and build project in the Deeside area, one of the first ECI schemes involving the Contractor and his design team at an early stage. Moore Environment have been responsible for co-ordinating a multidisciplinary team to carry out extensive environmental surveys including over 60 potential great crested newt ponds and archaeological trial trenching. Work to date has included Environmental Scoping, Consultations with Statutory Bodies and Local Authorities, input to the engineering design and completion of the Environmental Masterplan.

The Environmental Statement for the project was published in March 2005 followed by the Public Inquiry in October of that year. The team have since been preparing the detailed environmental design and specification and made contributions to value engineering for the project, successfully improving its environmental performance.

The scheme started on site in Autumn 2006 with extensive advanced ecological and archaeological works.

A500 PATHFINDER PROJECT
MOUCHEL PARKMAN &
HIGHWAYS AGENCY
1999 ONGOING

A key objective of the scheme is to help secure economic regeneration for Stoke on Trent by improved access to development sites and townscape enhancement. Moore Environment acts as Environmental Co-ordinators for this project as sub consultants to Mouchel Parkman, the Employers Agent. This is an innovative project where the Design and Build contractor has been appointed before Orders Publication, the first of its kind.

The company is dealing with all issues related to townscape, biodiversity, built heritage, archaeology, noise and air quality. Environmental work has included an initial scoping report, a baseline survey to Stage 3 assessment as set out in DMRB Volume 11 and a selective assessment of the Preferred Route to set a performance benchmark for tenderers. A major contribution was made to the environmental aspects of the Employers Requirements particularly in terms of setting standards for townscape design.

Work has included detailed review of the Environmental Statement and evidence for the Public Inquiry. Work has included the review of detailed design for noise insulation, structural finishes and hard / soft landscape measures and supervision of landscape and art works on site. The scheme was opened to traffic in late 2006.

NEW HOLLY FARM GOLF COURSE EIA & ES
NIGEL CURTIS PROPERTIES
JULY - SEPT 2005

Coordination of EIA and preparation of ES for a proposed Golf Course at Balsall Common Solihull to accompany planning application. Previous application had failed due to incompleteness of EIA. ME required to improve quality of assessment and reporting material and coordinate into a coherent, interactive and comprehensive document, including preparing scoping and assessment and reporting for topics not previously covered.

The planning application was subsequently approved late 2006.

GREAT BARR PARK
BOVIS HOMES
2004 - 2006

Development of strategic, open space, landscape and access proposals and Landscape and Ecological Management Plan for Great Barr Park in Walsall, adjacent to a housing development by Bovis Homes.

Work included a detailed tree survey, ecological surveys, consultations with the local planning authority and preparation of detailed design and management proposals for the Park and housing open space.
