A5117 Deeside Junction Improvement

The A5117 and associated A550 is part of the Trans European Network, which connects Ireland with Scandinavia and provides a strategic link between the A55 into North Wales and the M56 into the North West of England. The scheme was required to improve access for local communities and non motorised users and benefit the economy by reducing accidents and congestion.

Moore Environment was involved with the scheme from an early planning stage, as environmental co-ordinator and landscape architect to Carillion the main civil engineering contractor. Moore Environment co-ordinated all environmental aspects of master planning for the scheme, conducting a full Environmental Impact Assessment, production of the Environmental Statement, gave evidence at the Public Inquiry, carried out detailed design and specification for all landscape and environmental measures and supervised all environmental aspects during construction and aftercare.
