St Mary’s churchyard is a green space of significant potential for the community. It is in a reasonable condition but is suffering from a number of issues such as lack of positive management, poor accessibility and anti-social behaviour.
The client wishes to implement an access and interpretation scheme to improve the churchyard environment, tell the story of the church and churchyard and transform it into an accessible green space for the benefit of the local community and visitors to Moseley. The Churchyard Heritage Committee (CHC) appointed Moore Environment to develop proposals for the project.
As part of the project, public consultation has been carried out to gain input from all those with an interest in the churchyard. The strategy for seeking public opinion was purposefully targeted to ensure particular attention could be paid to the views of the local community and regular visitors to the village.
